2019: EDGE Activation

In 2019, Voices of Women presented three performances of The Monologue Adventure as part of the EDGE Activation at Leichhardt Town Hall. Over 170 submissions were received from women writers across Australia around the theme of ‘stormy sea, safe haven’. A selection of 20 stories were performed by Julia Christensen, Umima Shah-Munro, Clare Grant and Sage Godrei and guest artist Teena McCarthy.

A selection of pieces were chosen by Verity La online creative journal and the program is published in full here.

WHAT DO I SAY ABOUT THIS WORK NOW? Articulate began an online project for the COVID-19 shut-down period. The project encourages discussion of artworks that already exist. Artists were invited to reflect on one of their own works, including how and why its location is part of the work, for posting on this blog.

Artistic Director Lliane Clarke reflected on the project at EDGE ACTIVATION LEICHHARDT TOWN HALL.

Clare Grant OAM reflected on the project and the staging of multiple voices and the use of Space.
