Dubbo Storytelling Workshops

What’s your story?

All young women aged 18 – 25 in the Dubbo region are welcome to come along! In particular we welcome women from First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, women living with disability and LGBTQI+ communities.

WHAT: Learn how to craft your story in a safe and creative environment. Gain confidence and learn about storytelling. Join a story circle to begin and get to know other creatives. Have fun with word games and story play. Listen and share stories with others. Hear your story read by an actor and work with them on it. Share your story on a podcast.

Click the video to find out more! The sessions are fun, and creative. They include lunch and transport when required.

WHERE: Studio 138 – this is at the rear of 138 Macquarie St. It can be accessed through the Myer car park via Brisbane Street(same car park as the Commercial Hotel). Park behind Myer. When facing the back of Myer, look to the right – Studio 138 is a white building just to right of the car park. The building is accessible to wheelchair users. Please let us know if you have access requirements.

WHEN: You can choose a one day or two day option and we will notify you of the final date.

One day: Thursday 29 Sept OR Saturday 1 Oct

Two day: Thursday 29 – Friday 30 Sept OR Saturday1- Sunday 2 Oct

WHO: you will be taking part in a workshop with writer and publisher Voices of Women Artistic Director Lliane Clarke, First Nations Community Liaison Director Di Bird, writer and performer Kalina Davis, performer Georgie Saunders and more!
